This article covers how to set up an audience to target. In our blogs, we have covered why targeting is so important to your research.

Once you have scripted your survey, you are now ready to set the target audience you wish to send this survey to. On the Bounce platform, there are two options for this:

1. Custom Audience

2. Communities

Custom Audience

Using the custom audience feature allows you to select a bespoke audience to go to. When selecting your audience, you will see two different types of targeting: Targeting & Advanced Targeting.

Targeting:

This is where you will set targeting quotas on the standard nationally representative targets - age, gender, & region. We recommend that you aim to have all your research going as close to the nationally representative sample as possible. Setting these quotas, also ensures that those completing the survey are monitored and you don't have too many of some cohorts answering more than others.

Advanced Targeting:

Advanced Targeting allows you to go deeper than the standard targeting. On the Bounce platform, we have 100s of data points captured on our panel, including Alcohol Drinkers, Social Grade, Children, Days Exercised, Tea Drinkers, among many, many more.

Advanced Targeting is used where you need to ask questions to specific groups that cannot be defined by age, gender, or region. If you need help deciding if this is needed, you can always ask one of our Account Managers.

Similarly, if you have a particular targeting that you cannot see on our list, ask our Account Managers and they can work to get this captured for you.

Communities:

Communities are pre-built audiences for some of our subscription clients. These are pre-decided between the client and Account Management Team. These communities have specific criteria and can be seen in the audience breakdown of exactly what they are.
